Board of Trustees
Under UK charity law, the RFS is governed by a Board of Trustees who are volunteers. They are also directors under company law. Members of the Board of Trustees can be found here.
The RFS governing document, the Memorandum and Articles of Association can be found here.
The RFS Council’s role is to nominate officers for election at the AGM, appoint other members of the Board of Trustees, and provide advice and support to the Board. Council members comprise the Board of Trustees, Past Presidents, elected representatives from each of the RFS 20 Divisions and co-opted members.
Each of our 20 Divisions has an elected Honorary Secretary who is a key player in organising local events such as outdoor meetings. Each Division has a Chairperson and a local Committee, who are volunteers.
