Whole Society Meeting visit to Clinton Devon Estate - South Western Division

  • Venue - Clinton Devon Estate, Merton

The first day of our annual Whole Society Meeting consists of visiting the Heanton Woods element of Clinton Devon Estates. The Heanton Woods covers approximately 1000 hectares and comprises mainly conifer. In the morning there will be stops at Beacon Park and Burymoor Plantation considering management of broadleaf in the landscape, and the award-winning conifer plantations. Lunch will be held at Clinton Hall in Merton followed by the Annual General Meeting. The afternoon starts with a walk through the Pinetum in Huish Woods culminating in a garden tour and a Devon Cream tea hosted by Lady Clinton at Heanton Satchville.

Most all-day meetings start at around 10:00 and end at around 16:00, but please check precise details with the Local Honorary Secretary.

RFS meetings take place out in the woods in all weathers. Appropriate footwear and clothing should be worn. Please be aware of your health and safety at all times. Do not take risks that could put you or others in danger. Do not attempt to do anything that you do not feel confident about. Please follow instructions.

RFS members are welcome to attend events in any Division.
