Holly - It's not just for Christmas

There is much more to holly than our traditional festive view of fireplaces bedecked with glossy leaved and red berried boughs. There are more than 400 holly species around the world – and many look nothing like our native holly. One person who knows more than most is Tony Barnes, Chairman of the Royal Forestry Society’s South West Wales Division, and owner of one of only two national holly collections in the UK.
