Volunteers at Hockeridge and Pancake Wood
 Share this article on

Our Hockeridge and Pancake Wood volunteers have gone into action for the first time, helping to cut back regeneration that had grown over rides.

Overseen by the Chiltern Society, 16 volunteers tackled western hemlock, western red cedar birch and other species, providing more than 48 valuable man hours of labour with loppers and bow saws. Our thanks to everyone who took part.

Active management of woodlands is vital for trees and biodiversity to thrive. We hope to arrange regular volunteer parties which will be publicised on the Chiltern Society website and on our events calendar Events calendar .
