The Award is part of the 2014 RFS Excellence in Forestry Awards and is being held, in association with Forestry Commission England and the Environment Agency’s Climate Ready Project, to reward woodland

The deadline for entries is 31 March 2014, and the Award is open to woodlands that have been planted in the last 5 years and are 5 hectares or more. For details, see Woodlands for Climate Change Award.

The Award is part of the RFS annual Excellence in Forestry Awards, which this year will also see 20 award-winning woodlands across the country and six schools pick up the challenge to prove they are the very Best in England. Those competiting in the Best of England Championships have all won awards over the past five years when the RFS Excellence in Forestry Awards visited their region, and now it is their chance to be judged against other regional winners in five categories: Duke of Cornwall (Multipurpose), RFS Silviculture Award, Small Woodlands (including Farm), Community Woodlands and Schools Awards.

Winners of the Woodlands for Climate Change Award and the Best of England categories will receive their awards at a special event at Upton Estate on 9 July 2014.
