She will be working closely with Dr Lesley Trotter, Co-Editor (Production) as the QJF strengthens its proud reputation for original articles you can read nowhere else, from peer reviewed technical papers to feature articles on all aspects of woodland management.

Freia has over 10 years of industry experience spanning education, editing/publishing and research, holding a PhD in Forest Entomology (Forest Research/University of Ulster).

As a Lecturer in Forestry and Arboriculture at Sparsholt College, Hampshire, Freia has close educational links. She also maintains a working knowledge of woodland management through her work as a forestry and arboricultural consultant.

Lesley Trotter, who was appointed Editor in April 2001, will continue to lead on design , production and development.

They say: "The QJF is hugely respected by RFS members. These are exceptional and exciting times for all those interested in forestry and woodland management and we will be looking to bring the very latest in thinking to our readers - from practical hands on experiences of woodland owners and managers through to the latest developments and insights of applied research.
