RFS appoints new Future Foresters Officer

Adam Pickles is all set to join the Royal Forestry Society on 29 April 2019 as our Future Foresters Officer with a brief to engage and enthuse people from all backgrounds to enter the forestry sector.

Adam Pickles : Joins the RFS on 29April as Future Foresters Officer

Adam has a BSc in Ecology and Wildlife Conservation from Bournemouth University, studied Countryside Management at Myerscough College and has a particular interest in woodland management. He has worked in volunteer roles with Lancashire Wildlife Trust, the Dorset Heath Project with the National Trust and the Corcovado Foundation in Costa Rica.

He says: "I am looking forward to engaging and connecting with the next generation of forestry and conservation professionals.

“I aim to highlight the great diversity of careers available in the land management sector in a way that captures the imagination and hearts of young people, to provide guidance and support on their journey and also to help existing stakeholders provide more opportunities for young people taking their first steps into the sector."

Adam Pickles will be building on the work of Adam Todd who has moved on to a role with Pryor and Rickett.
