Date Issued: 30 July 2013

Come along to see the RFS at Confor Woodland Show, September 12–13 (stand A7), where an interactive database of  tree species will be launched. We’re also offering a free RFS Longleat Forest Walk with advanced-price show tickets to those who register!

The database of novel trees, chosen for their productivity and potential resilience to environmental change, will be launched on September 12 and demonstrated throughout the show at our stand, A7. The database has been developed by a team from Forestry Commission, Forest Research, Silvanus Trust and the Sylva Foundation. Come along and see how you might be able to benefit from using it!

On September 13,  take part in a free RFS Longleat Forest Walk led by John Weir, the Forestry Commission England's Adviser, Woodland Creation and Resilience, and Longleat Estate Head Forester Dan Marsh. It is a unique opportunity to see a wide range of conifers growing under a continuous cover regime, and to discuss species diversification and species choice.

Attendees to the Longleat Forest Walk can purchase Confor Woodland Show tickets at the ADVANCE TICKET PRICE OF £8.50 direct from the RFS. To book, please email or call us: 01295 678588.
