A warmer welcome from the RFS at APF
A warm welcome to the many new members who joined the RFS at the APF exhibition, the Ragley Estate in Alcester, Worcestershire, on September 13–15, and a huge thank you to all those members who helped on the stand and to the hundreds of members and non-members who popped by to chat.
We are extending our popular APF offer –any new member joining now for 2013 will receive the rest of 2012 free. You can join online www.rfs.org.uk/join or call or email us for a membership leaflet: 01295 678588 or email@example.com.
New members who signed up at APF will shortly be receiving their membership packs and numbers.
Congratulations to Thomas Savery for winning our very popular ‘Match the leaves to the bark’ competition. A voucher is on the way to him.
For anyone wondering, the answers were:
- A=3 (Yew)
- B=5 (Beech)
- C=2 (Western Red Cedar)
- D=4 (Ash)
- E=1 (Oak)
- Log number 6 was Elm.
A full report on the RFS at APF will be included in the January edition of our Quarterly Journal of Forestry (QJF) because the October issue has already gone to press.
