Support the Next Generation of Foresters

The Royal Forestry Society is urging employers and early career foresters to get involved in supporting the next generation of foresters.

The Institute for Apprentices and Technical Education (IFATE) is looking for a forestry apprentice to sit on their apprentice panel. Panel members feedback their experiences and help shape apprenticeships for the future. More and how to apply here.

Meanwhile, the awarding body, City and Guilds, is looking for expressions of interest. They are seeking industry partners and employers to help in validating the new T Level – Grade Standard Exemplification Materials (GSEMs).  Each GSEM validation involving round three hours’ worth of time at £30/hr. Email Christopher.Jones@cityandguilds.com for more information.

Research

Nicola Abbatt is completing a Master of Laws (LLM) at Lancaster University. She is conducting a research project on environmental regulation of forestry.  The basis of the research is whether regulation poses significant barriers for sustainable timber production in the UK.
