Simon is leading the development of RFS strategy and a number of new and high profile projects and partnerships. Simon has more than 30 years of commercial business management experience. He owns and manages woodlands in Herefordshire and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Forestry from Bangor University.

Jen Turner

 Jen Turner, Development Manager

Jen is working with our supporters to raise funds for our exciting programmes of work. She is an advocate for great woodland management and has spent the last 11 years working in the nature conservation and ecology sectors. Before joining the RFS Jen was a Fundraising Manager at the RSPB and previous to that, she worked as an ecological consultant and project manager. Jen holds a BSc (Hons) in Marine Biology and an MSc in Environmental Management. 

Dawn Dewhurst (1)

Dawn Dewhurst, Membership Service Finance Officer

Dawn manages the day-to-day finances at the RFS and assists in many other projects at the Hay Barns. She previously worked as Payroll Manager for Fountains Ltd and has accumulated years of relevant experience. 
Outside the RFS, Dawn takes an active role in running her husband’s flying school business.

 Zoe Knight

Zoe is your first point of contact for any new or current RFS membership enquiries. Zoe has extensive administrative experience and has spent her working life in various roles for charities in the animal welfare, conservation and education sectors. From hands on work with Vervet Monkeys in South Africa, to running campaigns, public engagement and fundraising events- Zoe's passion for the outdoors and the environment is evident in everything she does.

Claire manages the events programme at RFS HQ, covering everything from administering Long Service Awards to arranging conferences.  She previously spent over 15 years in recruitment, including 10 years working for Macdonald & Company, a RICS-affiliated Property recruitment consultancy focused on executive search.

Becky Wilkinson, Teaching Trees Programme Officer

Becky leads our team of Teaching Trees Education Officers as well as running woodland visits for schools and leading outdoor learning training.  Becky spent 11 years as a teacher including time in senior leadership, teacher training and as a teaching and learning advisor. After a qualifying as a Forest School leader, Becky ran her own business for 2 years before joining the RFS in 2018, initially as the Staffordshire Education Officer. Becky has an MA in Educational Leadership.

 Adam Pickles

Adam Pickles, Future Foresters Officer

Adam co-ordinates the Future Foresters programme, helping  people towards employment in the forestry sector for young people. The programme includes a range of bursaries, awards and studentships which allow early career professionals and students to attend events such as seminars and conferences or conduct forestry related research abroad. Encouraging career progression and development through student engagement and events is also a key focus of Adam's work.  Adam has a BSc in Ecology and Wildlife Conservation.
